American superstar singer, Justin Bieber has been banned from performing in China for bad behavior. According to a statement released by Beijing’s Municipal Bureau of Culture, “Bieber’s lifestyle overseas and his words and actions when he last performed in China had generated public dissatisfaction. “Given efforts to purify the performing arts environment in China, it was not appropriate to bring in artists with bad behavior. “We hope Justin Bieber will continue to improve his behavior as part of his growth, and become a singer truly loved by the public.” The Canadian pop star performed in China in 2013 when media coverage centered on him stripping on stage in Beijing to reveal his bare torso, being carried up the steps of the Great Wall of China, and riding a segway, again shirtless, through the streets.

Peter Okoye of the P-Square fame has reacted to the plans by the federal government to stop production of music videos and movies outside the country. This was after Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed announced plans to halt production of videos outside the country. “If you shoot your musical videos outside Nigeria you will be prosecuted. “Shoot all your videos in Nigeria we have good locations,”Lai mohammed tweeted. Senegalese movie, Felicite, emerged the biggest winner of the night at the 13th African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). The movie won six AMAAs, the most of all the contenders. Felicite took home awards in three of the five major categories, winning best film, best actress in a leading role, and best supporting actor. Nigerian historical drama, ’76, won three awards from its eight nominations. In total Nigeria won nine awards, including the special recognition honour given to veteran comic-actor Nkem Owoh. ETISALAT TO BECOME 9MOBILE...WOW!!!   Etisalat Nigeria is now set to change its brand name to 9Mobile. It was  gathered that an announcement to the effect will be made soon. Etisalat had terminated a management agreement with its Nigerian arm and will phase out the brand in three weeks. Reuters reported that the Chief Executive of Etisalat International, Hatem Dowidar, said the company with a 45% in the Nigerian business, is transfering its shares to a loan trustee after the talks had failed. Dowidar also confirmed that all UAE shareholders of Etisalat Nigeria, including state-owned investment fund Mubadala, have left the company. “There’s a new board and we are not part of that company. We have sent our termination letter for the management agreement,” he said.
